Brittany Nielsen, News Anchor for KSBW Action News 8 will once again be our Emcee for the Foundation’s 11th Annual Dinner Dance.

Brittany Nielsen anchors KSBW Action News 8 Sunrise with Anchor Lauren Seaver, Meteorologist Art Jarrett and Traffic Reporter Michele Allen Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.-7 a.m.

Brittany was born and raised on the Central Coast in Watsonville. She is a proud graduate of Green Valley Christian School and Monte Vista Christian High School.

After graduating high school, Brittany attended Cabrillo College. She then ventured south to San Luis Obispo County where she attended Cuesta College and gained valuable broadcast experience at the school’s radio station. She then transferred to Eastern New Mexico University where she earned her degree, and began her broadcast career, working at the leading PBS affiliate in New Mexico. “News 3 New Mexico” was where she first put her skills to work, reporting, anchoring, and producing. In May 2007, after earning numerous honors at her university such as “Outstanding Undergraduate in Broadcast Journalism”, Brittany graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English.

She was thrilled to come home to the Central Coast and get to work for the station she grew up watching. After an internship in 2006, Brittany was hired at KSBW in 2007 as a reporter and was promoted to weekend evening news anchor in 2010. In 2014 Brittany joined the California Central Coast’s #1 weekday morning news.
