Volunteer
The volunteer program is a venture of the Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital
Auxiliary. The Auxiliary was formed in 1950 at the request of the Hospital
Trustees. Doctor’s wives participated, and eventually other civic
minded ladies joined them to raise funds for equipment, as well as other
needed services for the Hospital. The Auxiliary holds fundraisers in the
Spring and Fall and the proceeds from these as well as those from the
Gift Shop and Hazel’s Treasures are passed on to the hospital.
Funds raised by the Auxiliary provide:
- Hospital equipment
- Refurbishment of patient areas
- Scholarships for medically related studies
Volunteers
- Associate volunteers support the Auxiliary by paying dues.
- Active volunteers support the Auxiliary by active involvement, volunteering
their time to hospital- related projects and events.
