A Message from the Board President

I am honored to serve as the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation Board President for 2023. This will be my sixth year serving the Foundation. As president, I am looking forward to working with the Foundation's dedicated and talented team, as well as Foundation Director Liz Sparling and Coordinator Lissa Gaffney. I am also fortunate to be on the Board with such a great set of people who are all passionate about the Hospital and Foundation. We are ready for another incredible year.

Over the last several years we have understood the importance and urgency of having healthcare in our very own community. The past three years have been extremely difficult for Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. It has never been more evident how important it is to have a robust community hospital, and quality healthcare along with providing a resource for the community in coping with COVID-19's effects.

A new obstacle now exists for our Hospital. An unexpected financial crisis that has hampered a number of other community hospitals like ours. I am very optimistic that we will soon overcome this obstacle thanks to the commitment of the Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital's Administration, Hospital Board of Directors, the Foundation's unwavering dedication, and the tenacity of our Community.

Since its inception, the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation has collected and given out charitable gifts totaling more than $12 million dollars. The Foundation receives donations from people, businesses, foundations, and other donors, which are utilized to fund programs, equipment purchases, scholarships, and other essential requirements as well as facility upgrades.

Supporting our community Hospital is more important than ever, so I urge you to get involved whether it be volunteering your time or making a donation to the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation. Your generosity and support will guarantee local healthcare for future generations.
